Vergés will be present at Milan Design Week 2017

From the 4th to the 9th of April, the best of Catalonian design will be on show at Milan Design Week 2017 under the name “Inspired in Barcelona: In&Out”. This exhibition, which forms part of the Fourisalone programme and is organised by ACCIÓ of the Autonomous Government of Catalonia and BCD Barcelona Centre de Disseny, will show a selection of some of the best companies and designers of products from Catalonia’s home sector inspired by the values, excellence and lifestyle of Barcelona. Two Vergés products have been selected to be exhibited at the industry’s trade show.

Vergés will be present at the Milan Fashion Week 2017 with the armchair from the Basic La Granja family which is produced and distributed in Tortellà. This collection is characterised by a commitment to tradition and the elegance of the Nordic lines with the organic warmth of the Mediterranean. It has simple, friendly lines, using only natural, superior materials like wood, and the most advanced technology at the service of the traditional methods.

The other Vergés product to be shown at Milan Design Week 2017 is the Bernardes bench of the Les Bernardes collection created for Vergés Selection by Andreu Carulla. This family aims to capture the austerity and discretion typical of religious convents and reflect them in its products, in a chair that is also comfortable. The result is a timeless, sober collection. The final piece has a light appearance but its materials make it robust and hard-wearing. The Les Bernardes pieces are made of beech and traditional wicker basketry.

“Inspired in Barcelona: In&Out” will reveal an open Barcelona that invites you to spend time outdoors and enjoy internationally-renowned creative, cultural tradition. A Mediterranean city that fills its interior and exterior spaces with the best design and innovations of the big cities of the 21st Century.

The Les Bernardes bench and the Basic armchair will be shown in one of the most important international showcases in the design section. The 56th edition of the Milan Design Week is expected to be attended by around 300,000 people.
